Spend Some, Make Some!

It’s true that many times in life we have to spend a little to make a little.  For instance, when we want to make some easy extra cash by answering product or company surveys online, it certainly seems an obvious tactic to us when we are prompted to pay money for access to the survey.  (What? Pay you?!  But you’re supposed to be paying me!)  Seems like a reasonable enough reaction to a common scenario.  Think about it though- every day we are spending money to make money.  This is true in our daily lives in ways we don’t really recognize.

Probably the most common example of this- and one of the most expensive- would be the fuel we burn up in our automobiles every day so that we can travel to our jobs and make a few dollars.  Some other examples:

Driving farther than we normally would (spending more in fuel cents) to save a few cents per gallon of fuel
Buying a newspaper to get the coupons
People who earn money blogging- they’re purchasing domains, or web hosting, or better computers and software, or all of the above
Paying for classes on the chance that it could improve our income
The list goes on and on.  How many can you think of?

In some cases we look at this as an investment- usually when the tab is a large one that is how we rationalize it.  But if you think about it, it’s all really the same- and it takes place on a sort of sliding scale of value.  So is it really all too unrealistic that we’d be expected to pay the shipping and handling charges on say a $15.00 product, in order to receive that product for free and then get paid $5.00 to answer a few questions about said product?  For example, you pay $3.50 S&H for a $12.00 product, and make the $5.00 for the survey.  Sure, you had to pay something, but you just made $13.50 for a sponsored survey!

There are thousands of opportunities out there today to make a little cash here and there for our services.  One of the services we can most easily do is to get paid to answer surveys online.  After all, we’re most likely already set up at home with a computer and internet access.  All we have to do is find some companies we’re willing to work with, and invest our time- and maybe a little cash too.  Spend some to make some!

There are companies who make it easier- free memberships are available.  Get paid to try by visiting http://www.getpaidtotry.com/
